ABOUT JONATHON ELLIS & Sandalphon Capital
Jonathan Ellis is the Founder and Managing Director of Sandalphon Capital, an early stage venture capital fund based out of Chicago and focused on the Midwest region, primarily at Seed to Series A stages. Sandalphon was founded in early 2016 and primarily invests in software, marketplaces and tech-enabled services – their portfolio spans a range of industries including fintech, insuretech, regtech, real estate tech, healthcare, consumer IoT, and more.
Prior to founding Sandalphon, Jonathan was a Senior Vice President at Macquarie where he spent almost 10 years sourcing, executing and managing debt and equity investments across a wide range of industries and asset classes. Jonathan is also the Vice Chair of the Chicago chapter of Social Venture Partners, a group of engaged philanthropists that invest time, expertise and money in innovative nonprofits.
Jonathan grew up in England and has lived in Chicago for over 11 years. He earned a BSc (Hons) in International Management with American Business Studies from the University of Manchester in 2006, and a Master in Finance degree from INSEAD in 2011.
